Imagine God! One of God’s most creative gifts to us is the gift of imagination. God also gave us the gift of the Bible. There are various images of God in the Bible – God as a mother Eagle – God as Ruah (Spirit) – Jesus as the Bread of Life – God as Mother and Father – God as Shepherd. Come with open hearts and minds to hear what Cherub and Wesley Choirs have to bring in the musical, Imagine God! Presented in worship Saturday, May 12 at 5:00pm and Sunday, May 13 at 9:00am.
Cherub & Wesley Choir families – we will have combined dress rehearsals on May 2 & 9 from 5:30-6:40 and our final dress rehearsal will be Sat., May 12 at 3:15pm
Summer Music Needs - Believe it or not, summer is coming! During the summer months, our worship services include pieces offered by soloists, small ensembles, and occasionally the Summer Singers pick-up choir. If you would like to offer a solo (vocal or instrumental) or would like to participate in a small ensemble, please contact Janna Peterson. Music Camp - Children, teens, and adults are encouraged to attend Epworth Forest Choir School, a week of music (choral and instrumental), worship, and education. Held on the beautiful Anderson University Campus, EFCS offers age-appropriate experiences to enhance not only one’s musical life, but also encourages spiritual growth. Many adults and teens from FUMC have attended EFCS through the years. This year’s dates are July 22-28. Check them out www.epworthforestchoirschool.org “Changing lives through song and prayer.”
Adult Music
Chancel Choir - This talented group of singers enhances Sanctuary worship services with their anthems and special choral presentations. Jubilee Bells - This bell choir is open to any adult who can read music. Genesis Ringers - Adult beginner Bells. Ignite Worship Band - Band members use their vocal, guitar, percussion and keyboard talents to inspire and uplift at the contemporary worship service. Other Music Ministry opportunities open to all ages include the FUMC Band, the First Brass, the Flute Choir, and seasonal pick-up choirs. |
Youth Music
Shalom Bells - A handbell choir for youth! Rehearsals are held weekly on Sunday afternoons. Shalom Bells ring in worship every other month. Youth Choir - For youth who love to sing, have fun, and grow in faith. Weekly rehearsals are held on Sunday Evenings. Youth choir participates in worship once per month. |
Children's Music
Cherub Choir (K-2nd grade) & Wesley Choir (3rd-5th grade) - meet weekly for respective rehearsals. These lively choirs participate in worship once per month. Children begin to learn how to read music. Children's Chimes - meet weekly for rehearsals. They "ring for Jesus!" Children begin to learn how to read music. |
